Edward F. Snella

Edward F. Snella, DDS, of Grosse Pointe Woods, passed away on June 11, 2016 at age 77. Dr. Snella attended University of Detroit Mercy (UDM) high school, college and dental school. He was the first full time student to graduate from UDM's advanced education program in endodontics, the 4th oldest program in the United States. Dr. Snella practiced Endodontics for over 50 years, as well as taught at his alma mater and participated as a member of the forensic dental response team. He was a long time member of the Michigan Endodontic, American Dental, Eastern Dental, Michigan Dental and Macomb Dental Associations, as well as a member of the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society. In addition to enjoying time with family and friends, Dr. Snella enjoyed hunting and fishing and served as a licensed Charter Captain. He also volunteered at Sand Castles Grief Support Program for Children and Families through the Hospices of Henry Ford Health System for over 14 years. Dr. Snella was the beloved husband of Judith E. (nee MacDonald). Loving father of Blair A. (Phillip) Parent and Brooke E. (Michael) Geraghty. Dear Grandpa and Pop to Jordyn W. Parent and Cameron E. Geraghty. Loving brother to Annette (David) Wimsatt, Allen (Diane) Snella and James (Deborah) Snella. Uncle to Jennifer (Ken) Mazur, David Wimsatt Jr., Matthew Snella, Jessica Snella, Elizabeth Snella and Andrew Snella. He was also survived by many, many loving friends and colleagues. A memorial celebration will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, July 24th at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan.
