Frances Ann Anderson

Frances Ann Anderson (nee Scott), fondly known as "Skipper Fran," passed away on November 15, 2019, at the age of 75. A daughter of James and Lee (nee Seay), she was born on December 2, 1943. Fran made her career as an internal auditor for General Motors, retiring after more than 40 years of service. Fran married Jerry Anderson at Grosse Pointe Memorial Church, and were joined in love for 30 years. Fran was a skilled and passionate sailor, belonging to both the Bayview and Port Huron Yacht Clubs. She took great care in maintaining her 40-foot sailboat, Bushwacker. Fran proudly participated in 20 Port Huron to Mackinac races and 4 Chicago to Mackinac races. She also enjoyed cruising with Jerry on Lake St. Clair. Beloved wife of Jerry. Loving mother of Jeffery (Michelle) and Jason (Amanda). "Nana" of Brooklyn, Charlotte, and Madelyn Rose. Dear sister of Margie Gore. Fran was preceded in death by her son, Todd Phelps, and her brothers, Lee and Clifton Scott. She also leaves behind her cherished cats, Kate and Pippa. A visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 20, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Woods, 48236. Fran will lie in state on Thursday, November 21, at 9:30 am until time of funeral service at 10:00 am at A. H. Peters Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fran's memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Donor Services, PO Box 98018, Washington DC 20090. Fran supported the Society by sailing in their Leukemia Cup Regatta for several years.
