Frances (Fran) Elizabeth Partridge, resident of Grosse Pointe Park, died peacefully on September 26, 2014 surrounded by her family and the love of her relatives and friends. She blessed the world for 68 years. Fran was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 4, 1946, daughter of the late Joseph and Ida (Franz) Boner. She grew up in East Detroit with her brother Joe and had a happy, busy childhood. She was united in marriage to her beloved Gerald (Jerry) on July 2, 1966. The couple was blessed with two children, Jennifer and Scott, that she gave all of her energy and love to. They lived in several places before settling in Grosse Pointe Park for the past 32 years. Fran worked at Standard Federal Bank (Bank of America), retiring in 2007 after a career of 20 years. She was an active member of St. James Lutheran Church, serving as a part of the Chancel Choir, Congregational Council, and Prayer Partners youth ministry. The strength of her faith was at the core of her values. She was also a breast cancer survivor, and remained active in Watch, a breast cancer support group, after going into remission. She believed in supporting others battling the disease. She was also involved in the Grosse Pointe Sail Club, serving as Lady Fran, wife of the Commodore in 2004, and made wonderful friends throughout the southeast Michigan sailing community. Above all, Fran was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment she shared with them. Fran touched so many hearts and lives; the compassion and friendship that she extended to others was a blessing to all who knew her. Fran remains steadfast in our hearts and minds and will be forever loved and missed. Fran is the beloved wife of Jerry; dearest mother of Jennifer Partridge (David Ballinger) and Scott (Sarah) Partridge; dear sister of Joseph; and cherished grandmother of Alexandra, Catherine, and Theodore.
