

Genevieve Baciorowski passed away at her home on Sunday January 3 with her family by her side. She was born in Detroit the daughter of Mikolaj and Marya Krolczyk. She was the beloved wife of Peter until his death. She was the loving and gentle mother of G. Geraldine Nau (the late Raymond), Mary Shaunce (Peter), Patricia Murphy (John), Sherry Baciorowski, Fred, James (Donna), and Michael (Barb). She doted on her sixteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her grandson Franklyn. Throughout her life Genevieve was proud of her Polish heritage, and loved dancing especially the Polka. She would host traditional Polish holiday dinners at Christmas and Easter. She made sure that the food for Ester dinner was blessed on the Saturday preceding the holiday. Christmas would be a traditional dinner as well and would include the sharing of oplotek. Genevieve was an avid gardener, both flower and vegetable and belonged to the Harper Woods Garden Club. She created displays that described herbs. These were shown at the Harper Woods Library. She taught English as a second language to Vietnamese immigrants. Genevieve was a professional photographer and colorized the black and white prints, before color photography was available. She was also a portrait painter. After her husband Peter taught her how to fish, she surpassed his angling skills. She was a den mother when her sons were in the cub scouts and boy scouts. Mrs. Baciorowski will lie in state on Thursday 10:30 am until time of funeral Mass 11:00 am at St. Jude Catholic Church, 15879 E. Seven Mile Rd., Detroit, MI 48205.
