George Leonard Heidt Jr.

George Leonard Heidt Jr., passed away peacefully on March 15, 2020 at the age of 90. He was born on August 6, 1929 in Detroit; son of George and Margaret (nee Mallick) Heidt. George retired from the Chrysler Corporation after 37 years of service. He was proud to have served in the United States Marine Corp.

He is survived by his loving wife Peg of 67 years. He was proud of his children Mary Jo Moran (Ed), George L. Heidt III, Robert (Christine) Heidt, Patti Austin (Jon), Thomas (Jennifer) Heidt, James (Linda) Heidt, and John (Mary Beth) Heidt. He adored his grandchildren Liz Horner (Brian), Eddie, Tommy (Kerri), Katie Kirk (Anthony), Teddy (Ryan), Rob (Rochelle), Chrissie Pohlman (Jeremy), Jodi, Jonathan(Sarah), TJ (Megan), Matthew, Jimmy, Amanda, Michele Goddard (Seth), Sammy, Morgan, and Johnny. He was the great-grandfather of Lucy, Finley, Harper, Hayden, Ava, Aidan, Mina, Ian, Henry, Derek, Rachel, and Graham. He is survived by his sister Joan Gallagher (Dick).

A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church, 157 Lakeshore Drive, Grosse Pointe Farms.
