McCabee, George D., July 14, 2021. Age 96. Beloved husband of the late Lorraine. Loving father of Janice Hayes (Robert), Michael (Frances), Karen Gross (Frederick), Kathleen Hempel (David), and the late Robert. Blessed grandfather of Robert Hayes (Brittany), Matthew Hayes (Katrina), Lauren and Melissa McCabee, Steven James (Amanda), Jeffrey James, Cameron, Brianna and Madison Hempel. Also survived by six great grandchildren. Brother of Donald Nefske (Susan) and the late Robert Nefske (Sylvia). Proud alumni of De La Salle Class of 1943 and the University of Detroit Class of 1949. Veteran of WWII serving in the U. S. Air Force 1943-1946. Services at St. Joan of Arc Church, 22412 Overlake, St. Clair Shores, 48080. In-state Thursday, July 22, from 11:00 a.m. until Mass at 12:00 Noon. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Joan of Arc Church.
