Henry B. Casper

Henry B. Casper, age 91, a resident of St. Clair Shores, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 30, 2019. Henry was born on February 4, 1928 in Detroit to Henry and Margarette Casper. He attended St. Matthews Catholic School and went on to serve in the United States Coast Guard. After his service Henry went to Henry Ford School where he studied tool & die and became a machinist. Henry was an avid boater. He was a member of the Grosse Pointe Power Squadron and also an instructor. He enjoyed fishing and spending time on Lake St. Clair. Henry also enjoyed pheasant hunting and spending time outdoors. He was a member of the St. Clair Shores Moose Lodge #1837 and a long time parishioner at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Most importantly, Henry enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a caring and loving man and will be missed. Beloved husband of the late Justine. Loving father of the late Henry IV (Lois) Casper, Carol Monahan, Jo Ann (Karl) Bobcean, and Mark (Dove) Casper. Loved grandfather of Alfred IV Baston and Paul Henry Baston; Chris (Kelli) Bobcean, Kevin (Laura) Bobcean; Bryan (Michelle) Schuchard, and Lauren Casper. Cherished great-grandfather of Noah, Cole, Savannah, Claire, Julia, Audrey, Luke, and Connor. Dear brother of Cecelia (Dan) Lemanske, the late Anna May Parak, and the late Mary Lou Rister. Companion to Sophie Santaro. A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday 11:30 AM until time of memorial Mass 12:00 PM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack, St. Clair Shores, MI.
