Jack Cameron McLauchlan

Jack McLauchlan passed away at Wm Beaumont Hospital in Grosse Pointe on March 14, 2011. He was born on November 30th, 1930; son of William and Mary (nee Duthie) McLauchlan. On October 11, 1958 Jack married his beloved Josephine Lipuma at St. David Catholic Church in Detroit. They resided in Eastpointe until three years ago when they moved to Grosse Pointe Farms. Mr. McLauchlan retired from General Motors as an automotive engineer. He was handy man that could fix just about anything. He always kept tools and other equipment in his vehicle just in case someone needed something repaired or built. He never complained about anything and was selfless when others were concerned. He was genuinely one of the nicest men in the world to all that knew him. Jack kept active throughout his life playing golf or hockey. He loved all sports. His biggest love in his life was his family. He adored his wife of 52 years; Josephine. He was extremely proud of his son Michael (Terrie) and daughter Lisa (Ken) Cervone. He doted on his grandchildren Andy, Emily, Jack, Kenny, Adam, and Lily. A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church 21620 Greater Mack, St. Clair Shores. Monsignor G. Michael Bugarin will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 20450 Civic Center Drive, Southfield, MI 48076 or the Capuchins, 1820 Mt. Elliott, Detroit, MI 48207.
