Jeffrey Lawrence Kraus

Jeffrey Lawrence Kraus, age 76, passed away on December 13, 2020. He was the cherished brother to Henry (Amy) Kraus and Martha (Jerry Bartkiewicz) Kraus. Adored uncle to Kimberly (Clark) Standish, Jeffrey (Jessica) Kraus, Karen Burghardt, Kristin (Joe) Dragovic, and Meredith Kraus. Loving great-uncle to Anna (Will), Henry, River, Natalia, Isabel, Leo, Louisa, and Sophia. Dear cousin to many. Predeceased by his parents Hazen Henry and Esther Virginia, and his sister Gretchen Josephine.

Jeffrey was a graduate of Wayne State University. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He served active duty for 4 years in the Special Forces division in Berlin as a Specialist Five. He was awarded two certificates of appreciation signed by President Richard Nixon, Commander in Chief, and by General W. C. Westmoreland, General of U.S. Army Chief of Staff. When Jeffrey came home, he worked for Chrysler Financial for many years as a team leader as a Senior Computer Developer. While at Chrysler Financial, his team developed a main frame system 20 years ago that is still in use today. Jeffrey was an avid golfer and pianist. He would always look forward to his Wednesday golf day. Jeffrey loved his family the most, though. He will be greatly missed. 

Memorial service will be held 10 AM on Saturday, December 19th at Our Lady Star of the Sea, 467 Fairford Road, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236. Live stream the service at olsos.org. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Michigan Juvenile Research Foundation, or to the Multiple Sclerosis Association.
