

John Borkowski age 92 died peacefully Monday December 7, 2009 at Fraser Villa. John was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WW II in the following campaigns, Tunisia, Sicily, Rhineland Central Europe and received the following Citations: EAME Theater Ribbon w/4 Bronze Stars and Good Conduct Ribbon. He was discharged from the Army 23 Oct 1945 and on the 26th of October 1946 he married his bride of 63 years Katherine (nee Nosal) in Little Rock, Ark. He was employed as a press operator with De-Sta-Co retiring in 1982. In addition to his wife Katherine, John is survived by his daughter Bernice (Ronald) Landry and his son Richard (Christine) Borkowski, grandchildren Jennifer (Michael) Kozak, Julie (Tim) Tanner, JoAnna Landry, Gregory (Dina) Borkowski, Kenneth (Kristen) Borkowski and Emily Borkowski, great-grandchildren Mary Katherine Kozak, Lillian Kozak, Joseph Tanner and Nicholas Borkowski, special family members Rita(Steve) Doss, Gabrielle Doss and Emma Doss. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Bernice (nee Klorinowski) Borkowski and 7 siblings. Visitation at the A.H.Peters Funeral Home 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13 1/2 Mile Rd) Warren Wednesday from 2pm until 9pm with a Rosary at 7pm. Funeral Mass at Transfiguration Catholic Church 5830 Simon K St. Detroit, MI.(1 Block w of Mound Rd. S of Davison) instate 9:30am until time of Mass 10:00 am. Military Honors will follow the Mass.
