Joseph S. Chmiel died Saturday, December 19, 2009. He was 94 years old. Joseph is an Army Veteran of World War II. He worked at Chrysler Automotive for 35 years and was a founding member of St. Malachy Catholic Church in Sterling Heights. Joseph is the beloved husband of the late Sophia. Loving father of Patrick (Carmela) and Christine (James) Patarello. Cherished grandfather of Rachel (Ron) DePlae, Jason, Ashley, Heather (Jason), Lyndsey and great-grandfather of Skye and Cody. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, December 21, 2009 from 2-4 and 5:30-9 p.m. at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic, Warren. Scripture service 6:00 p.m. In state Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 10:30 a.m. until Mass 11:00 a.m. at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 14085 East 14 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights.
