Sorry to hear of your fathers passing, Computer Mart/ Inacomp changed my life, after working for many years at the stores in Kalamazoo, i moved on to working at GM/EDS, Perot Systems/VW, Lucent Technology/Ford, Kodak and Canon. I am still working in computer networks and run a 60 Cisco router digital network across the U.S. Everyone talks about Silicon Valley and Technology but forget or do not know how much Michigan played a roll in Technology future as we know today. The old heathkit company finally closed it's doors last year and sad to see it go were I built my first computer in 1977. Working with your family was great and one of my best memories. I show pictures of me selling computers like the Apple II at a trade fair with the Computer Mart behind me and I think of all the good times and how computers have changed us all.

Ah Joe. You are always in my heart. I dearly miss you. I appreciate all the time we spent together and will never forget your wisdom and generosity. I love you and will always have the deepest respect for you. I woke up this morning with you in my mind which means you must be hovering around Vegas right now...peace always be with you. ;)

Dear Nan and Rick, I am so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I wish I would have known sooner, as I would have liked to pay my final respects. I still remember the days at Inacomp when Joe made me feel so welcome and comfortable working for the organization. My time with Computer Mart and then with Inacomp was some of the best of times. It changed my life in many ways. That's where I met my wife of now 22 years. Joe was a great friend and mentor. I will always remember him and the Inatome family with love and respect.

I saw the news of your father's passing in the newspaper. It reminded me of all the nice things he did for Rinke, Hartsig. . .and probably Cousino, when we all went there. I know he thought he did it anonymously,but some of us knew. He was a nice man and we know you will miss him terribly.

I first met Joe back in the late 70's when I was in college while working at Computer Mart while attending college. He always made me feel like family and had a unique way of explaining complicated concepts in a very simple manner. He taught me a great deal about the computer industry, and had a very positive impact on my career and my life. Joe will surely be missed. I wish the entire Inatome family peace love. To Aunty Ats, Rick & JC & our Inatome cousins, We cannot believe that our vibrant uncle is gone. We loved his energy, curiosity and joy in life. He could get as excited about sharing a Joe Brown ukulele performance with Zoe as talking about ideas for future business ventures. Joe Inatome was a great pioneer in bringing the power of the computer to the construction industry in Michigan. In the 1970s and 1980s, I worked with him in the development and promotion of computerized critical path method courses for the former Institute for Construction Management (ICM). As the executive secretary of ICM, I watched him teach hundreds of construction professionals on how to use the computer to organize their construction projects. He purchased main-frame computer time (at a time when their were no true personal computers)and used that time in his consulting work. He had the wisdom and vision to see how important the computer was becoming, and saw that computer education was going to be in demand once personal computing caught on in the business world. He was greatly respected by his engineering peers and Michigan's construction industry. My sympathy goes out to his Family and Friends at Joe's passing.
