Judith (Judy) Ann Anderman (née Hensley), surrounded by family, joined her beloved late husband William (Bill) E. Anderman III in heaven on September 22nd, 2020, in the home they built together decades before.
Judy was born on July 25th, 1939 in Huntington, West Virginia to Homer Heath Hensley and Mary Daphine Hayner. At the age of 7, Judy relocated to beautiful Michigan where her dad Homer started his own company, Hanco, of which she would later go on to co-own with her husband Bill.
Judy graduated from Redford High School in 1957 before pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature at Eastern Michigan University. It was at Eastern Michigan that Judy met the love of her life, Bill. They were married soon after graduation in 1963 and started their own family in 1964.
Judy had a quick wit and a self-proclaimed “feisty†personality which helped her succeed at anything and everything she put her mind to. She worked as a successful realtor for Coldwell Banker Schweitzer in Grosse Pointe, Michigan for over 20 years. Her kind nature and sarcastic sense of humor brought countless smiles to everyone around her leading to many enduring friendships.
Over the years, Judy read any book that was sent her way and enjoyed playing golf with her friends and family. While relaxing at home, she loved to watch Jeopardy and took pride in putting the contestants to shame with her trivia expertise. A lover of all furry creatures, Judy had many lucky pets over the years and was an active supporter of animal rescue organizations.
Following her retirement, Judy, affectionately known as Granny to her 15 grandchildren, loved to fill her days with family time. From board games to trivia, soccer and ice hockey and Irish dance, Judy was determined never to miss a single family gathering, sporting event, or recital, even as her grandchildren’s activities took her across the state and, at times, across the border.
In the little downtime that Judy had, she loved to have lively debates and supportive conversations with new friends on a variety of topics in online communities. Her love of Carrie Underwood and all things political, particularly Former President George W. Bush, led her to become a key member of several different communities over the years. There she made lifelong friends, many of whom she considered family, from all corners of the nation, united by their shared interests.
Judy is survived by her children Julie, Scott (Michele), and Jeff (Demi) who will never stop missing her, and her grandchildren Jessica (Luiz), Meghan (Dione), Andrew, Gabrielle (Chase), Jacob, Hayley, William, Noah, Madison, Eleanna, Andreana, and Katherine who aspire to carry on her legacy of kindness and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, as an animal lover, Judy would have requested for donations to be made to the Michigan Humane Society (or the animal rescue of your choosing) in her honor.
