Katharina (nee Pardon) Crowe, age 74 of Sterling Heights, went home to be with The Lord on Monday November 16, 2015. She was born in Niejemci, Yugoslavia November 5, 1941 to Anton and Eva (nee Brandelik) Pardon. The encroaching war and loss of her father prompted Kathy, with her mother and grandmother, to leave their home and settle in Austria in 1943. Kathy enjoyed her early childhood playing on the farm where she lived and walking to their country church and school in the rural countryside of Linz. Kathy celebrated her 10th birthday on a ship bound for America, arriving in New York City November 6, 1951. Kathy embraced her new life in Detroit, Michigan becoming fluent in English in only six months. When Kathy was 16, she met her best friend and the love of her life, Tom Crowe. On December 15, 1962, Kathy and Tom were united in a marriage that would last 53 years. A devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, Kathy spent her life always putting her family first. She loved her family and worked her whole life to provide the best for her daughters. A faithful travel companion to Tom, Kathy enjoyed traveling around the country to annual Navy ship reunions and to Europe to visit family and friends. Kathy's eternal optimism and joyful soul will be missed by all who knew her. Loving wife of Thomas Crowe. Treasured mother of Monica Crowe (Michael) Corbett, Susan Crowe (Richard) Murray and Nancy Gail (Tony) Jay. Proud Grandma of Morgan, Palmer, Tommy Hadley, Sydney, Madison, Ashley, Rick, Nick and Jesse. Cherished sister-in-law to Marilynn (Victor) Troutman and Kathy (Daryl) Freeman.
