Kathleen Rourke

Kathleen Ruth Rourke (nee Klega), born July 6, 1924, went home to the Lord on April 16, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mae (Manske) Klega, brother Robert, sister Sr. Joan Klega, and her late husband, Dr. Ronald Edward Rourke (1924-2018). She is survived by stepsons Timothy(Katy), Patrick (Judy), Ronald Jr (Karol, Leora), Joseph (Nancy), Robert (Paul Adams), Charles (Kelly), Michael (Susan), and Dennis (Michelle); stepdaughters Mary (Robert) Fortunate, Barbara (Victor) Johnson, Margaret (Jerry DeVisscher), and Elizabeth (Timothy) Wagner; Step-grandmother of twenty-four and great-grandmother of seven.

Kathleen was born and lived in Terre Haute, IN for most of her life, except for brief stints in Chicago and Miami Beach. She owned and ran a music shop called, “The Record Rack” in Terre Haute. She moved to Michigan in 2016 with her husband to be closer to family.

Her sense of humor carried her through, always ready to share a laugh. She loved attending Mass, receiving Holy Communion and praying the rosary. She often said, “God is good!” She was a dog lover and is survived by her dog, Corky. She looked forward to weekly outings with family members and was always thankful for any act of kindness.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 5, 2020 at St. Joseph University Catholic Parish, 113 S. 5th Street, Terra Haute, IN 47807

Cemetery prayers will take immediately following at Calvary Cemetery, 4227 Wabash Avenue, Terra Haute, IN 47803
