To the Gorlitz family, Ken and I meet 56 years ago when we were both starting a new job and it didn’t take long for me to see what an outstanding person he was. After we worked together a short period of time I began to appreciate and love his gentle mannerisms and the kindness he exuded to all people from every walk of life whether he knew them or they were strangers. I quickly placed him in the category of a role model in my mind and learned from him constantly while we worked together off and on for many years at several engineering companies. I learned engineering from him for sure but much more then that we’re the lessons I learned about being respectful and understanding of people as he always was. The Love that we all have for him does not end with the death of his body but continues to grow and expand forever toward the Light that shines beyond in perfect constancy. Aunt Mary and Kurt - I was so sorry to hear of Ken's passing - I definitely know what you are going through. My deepest condolences. Ken and I were very fond of him. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I have great memories of working and traveling with Ken. Condolences to the extended Gorlitz family.

I had the distinct pleasure of working right alongside Ken and observed him qualify as a Facility Inspector. I consider Ken to be one of the plank owners for the Auxiliary Trident program at Sector Detroit. I have very fond memories of Ken and other Auxiliary members working hand in hand with the "gold side" ensuring compliance with safety and pollution prevention regulations at a local facility. I guess more importantly I remember Ken's insistence on having lunch at the Yacht Club after our weekend Marine Safety classes and eating bean soup with vinegar, a trick of the trade he let me in on.  I accepted an invitation to the Gross Point Yacht Club for dinner from Ken and Mary Ann. Our daughter begged and pleaded to attend and I reluctantly agreed to take her along. I remember Ken and Marry Ann deeming the Yacht Club a "family place" and that they would have insisted she attend. I'll remember how much of a pleasant occasion this was and one that provided a memory for the rest of my life. I'll be having a Grand Mariner in Ken's honor in the very short future. I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Ken with the Coast Guard Auxiliary, he was such a great person to work with. Please accept my deepest condolence's for you and your family loss.

Wally and I are so sorry for your loss. Ken always made us feel welcome and part of the family. He was a very special and generous person who will be missed.
