
Kenneth David Robertson, of Grosse Pointe Woods, passed away on November 24, 2020 at the age of 73. The first born of seven children to David and Grace Robertson, he was born on January 25, 1947 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
Ken graduated from Grosse Pointe High School in 1965, studied marketing at Ferris State University, served in the United States Navy and earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Ken inherited his love of cars from his father and channeled it into a 40-year career in the automotive industry. His early days were spent in part procurement before settling into his long career as a draftsman, designing everything from cars to mobile homes. Ken spent the latter part of his career as a designer with MOPAR Drag Racing at the Fiat Chrysler Automotive Tech Center in Auburn Hills.
A kind gentle soul with a warm smile and comforting personality, Ken had a way of staying positive regardless of life’s challenges. A frequent visitor of the Lochmoor Club in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, where he was a member since 2015; he most enjoyed his time with family and friends. As a child, Ken enjoyed playing hockey and baseball, but his true passion was golf. Although he enjoyed the challenges of the game, being out on the course with friends and family brought him the most joy.
Beloved husband of the late Doreen Loranger, he was proceeded in death by his parents, David and Grace Robertson. Loving father of Timothy (Melissa) Styles and Holly (Brad) Irvin. Dear brother of William (Deborah), Joan (Stanley) Sargol, Lynda (Michael) Gleason, James (Kimberly), Donald, and Brian (Michelle). Dear Uncle and Great-Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Cherished companion of Patti, and friend to John, Greg and Jeff.
Kenneth will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan. A celebration of life to be planned for later date.
