

COVALLE, LEE R. March 11, 2010 Age 85 Beloved husband of Marjorie for 66 years. Dear father of Linda (Marvin) Puwal, Judith (Alan) Kelley, Mary (Leonard) Ryntz and Cheryl (the late David) Hellebuyck. Loving grandfather of eight and great grandfather of twelve. Brother of Kenneth Covalle. Visitation Saturday 4-9 pm and Sunday 2-9 pm at A. H. Peters Funeral Home 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. In state Monday 10:00 am until time of funeral service 11:00 am at Mount Olive Lutheran Church 4444 Radnor at Mack Avenue, Detroit. Interment Cadillac Memorial Gardens East. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Mr. Covalle retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1990 after 24 years of service at the Highland Park paint shop. He was very active at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church as an usher, and upon the closing of this church became active at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church as an usher and as Sunday School bus driver. Mr. Covalle enjoyed wood working and had many projects in his garage in various stages of design and development. He loved fishing including ice fishing with his sons-in-law. Mr. Covalle proudly served his country in the U. S. Army under General Patton in the ETO as a tank driver. He was severely injured when his tank became under heavy artillery fire. Mr. Covalle was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His priorities were always in order wife, family, country and church.
