Margaret Elizabeth Ouellette, 76, of Troy, MI, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2025. Born on August 29, 1948, in Grosse Pointe, MI, to parents George and Catherine Howell (both deceased), Margaret was a devoted and loving mother to Nicole and Nathan Ouellette.
Above all else, Mom dedicated her life to the well-being of her children, working tirelessly to provide for her family, even through difficult times. No matter what challenges she faced, she greeted the world with a warm smile and an unwaveringly positive spirit. She led a life of quiet strength, boundless love, and selflessness, never seeking the spotlight but always deserving of honor and gratitude for the countless sacrifices she made.
A woman of faith, kindness, and integrity, Mom was a source of comfort and support to all who knew her. She embraced life’s simple joys—dancing, attending concerts, making arts and crafts, and gathering for weekly lunches with her sisters and extended family. Her Catholic faith was a guiding light throughout her life, and even in her final days, when walking became difficult, she remained devoted to attending Mass and praying the Rosary whenever possible.
Margaret is survived by her brother George Howell, sister Jean Meyle, daughter Nicole Ouellette, and son Nathan Ouellette. She is preceded in passing by her beloved sisters Patricia Stander, Kathy Mackstaller, and Mary Lozina.
We take comfort in knowing that Mom’s kindness and generosity touched so many lives, leaving behind a legacy of love that will never be forgotten.
A viewing will be held on Friday, February 21, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods, MI, from 5–8 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 22, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, beginning at approximately 10am
