

Margaret Santoni passed away peacefully at home on January 14, 2016 at the age of 99. She was born on July 14, 1916 in Detroit; daughter of Anthony and Marina (nee Caito) Rini. Margaret married Frank Santoni on October 18, 1941 at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Detroit. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage together until Frank's passing on February 6, 2005. Mrs. Santoni was a meticulous homemaker. She always maintained a beautiful vegetable garden in her backyard and a beautifully manicured front yard. She loved sewing and baking. Margaret was the ultimate matriarch. She never forgot cards for birthdays. Margaret loved the holidays. Her catholic faith was devout; as she would rarely miss Saturday Mass at St. Angela. Mrs. Santoni's biggest love of all was her family. She was predeceased by her husband Frank and daughter Carol (William) Mason. She will be dearly missed by her loving daughters Peggy (Robert) Thomas, Julie (John) Kment, and Wendy (Rick) Brown. She adored her 22 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her dog Frisky. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Sunday from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 7:00 pm. Mrs. Santoni will lie instate on Monday from 11:30 am until the time of the Mass of the Resurrection at Noon at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church 22851 Lexington, Eastpointe. Fr. Robert Fisher and Fr. Anthony Sulkowski will officiate. A funeral procession will take Margaret to be with her beloved Frank forever at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
