We were all so sorry to hear about Aunt Marge's passing. We loved Aunt Marge and remember the wonderful times with our families in Caseville and in St. Clair Shores. Blessings to your family. All our love, the Dusdal Family.

You could not ask for a better neighbor than Mrs. Riew (Marge). She truly brought to life what it meant to "be a good neighbor" and "love thy neighbor". We will miss her on her enclosed back porch (built by Eric) where she spent so much time, her waves from the window and her asking about our lives. She genuinely took an interest in everyone. She became like a 2nd grandma figure to us after we lost ours, and a mom-like figure to my mom. She was a lady with grace and dignity who led a life of an example. She was not afraid to get old, perhaps only disappointed that it slowed her down some. As others mentioned she was playful and loved life. Her world was her family and friends.  She watched over my family and we pray she continues to do the same. The world and neighborhood will be less bright. She was one of the last of our original neighbors, and few people will I ever be able to say has known me my entire life of 45 years (like Julie!). She watched me grow up on one side of her house, and one of my good friends, Frank, on her other side. She took an interest in all of our lives my mom, my dad and my brother. Despite her ailments, she asked about our ailments and when we colds or flu.  She loved our dogs Pepper, Duke, and Tiger over the years, always feeding them treats, and they in turn barked at strangers and company, and even Ron! I remember her literally crying coming out of her house when we were burying Pepper in the backyard in the pouring rain. A sad sad day. We loved seeing her home filled with family on special occasions and holidays. You all brought so much joy to her life. You all took care of her well, and we pray for you in this time of change.  We enjoyed hearing about the vacations she went on. Once I recall, years ago she said Mr Riew (Elmer) and her drove something like 1100 miles on a trip. She asked about my trips and frequent bicycle races. Like my mom, she knew I was never ready for a trip and saw me scrambling between my parents garage and car packing. She saw us working in the yard on stuff and always came out to chat or opened her window. One of my earliest memories was playing alone in the yard in the snow, and she came out to toss a ball back and forth over the fence to me. We'll remember the garage being built and the scary finding of an old practice grenade from the war in the yard. We'll remember the basement steps that if Frank and I lost a ball over the fence seemed like a scary dungeon! We will miss her cookies and chocolates at Christmas. Just over a month ago I talked to her on the phone for the last time while she was at her rehab home. As an adult, and as long as I can remember, my Grandmother Margot Ellen Riew has been a part of my life. From mystery trips on the Harsens' Island Ferry and Huckleberry Railroad- to VBS at Bethel Baptist, to family vacations to the "plush" chalets at the Pontiac Motor Lodge in Mackinac, Nashville, Caseville, Charlevoix, and the "girls trip" to Washington DC, she was always planning fun adventures, and trying to make life special for me. Todays' word for her would be "Extra", (and that must be where I get it from). She always wanted things nice, or fun, pretty or delicious for everyone! She had patience to teach me to play piano as a child, where we had a great duet of "Heart and Soul", and then taught my children our other favorite "Doe, a Deer" from The Sound Of Music. She had the generosity to buy me a piano and a child so I could continue to learn. She taught me to bake; german pancakes, plum cake, lemon souffles and inside out pants.... to decorate cakes, crochet and be patient when Grandpa would re-arrange the dishwasher..... She spent many summer nights while grandpa watched Hawaii 5-0, teaching me spite and malice, uno, Aggravation, hand and foot and so many other games! Games were her thing, and we always made sure to play a few whenever we were together... Even if the rules seemed to change each time we played! She taught me that the most important room to clean before company came was the bathroom, and to "save steps" when clearing the table... meaning to carry all that I possibly could! She taught me how important an attractive table was at meal time, and how to properly weed a garden. I was spoiled as I had her all to myself for 13 years before my first of 4 cousins were born. I was fortunate to have her at my high school and college graduations, and my wedding. She was able to meet and spend time with all 5 of my children. She always took time to send them cards, and ask them about their activities whenever she saw them. She always made time to do a puzzle with Evan, who she said was "a little Ronnie". She was a grandmother to my husband for 29 years, and supportive to us both. And once she got her "texter" (ipad) she was unstoppable! She would watch clips of the boys hockey games, Laurens' meets, and Ava and Owens horse shows, and always text me afterwards to talk about them. I am so lucky to have had her as a part of my life for 45 years, because so many people are not as fortunate to have time with a grandparent like I have. I Have been truly blessed... We are so sorry for the passing of Marge. She was a very sweet lady and will be dearly missed. Love, hugs and prayers to all.

Mike and I are so sorry to hear of her passing. We have memories of her when we attended Bethel. Glad to see she was blessed with a long and wonderful life. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. She's home now.

So many beautiful memories of Marge during those "Bethel" years. She was a charming lady both inside and out! My condolences to the family!
