I would like to extend my condolences to the family. Losing a parent is so hard. Maria Rosa always brightened my day and made me smile. I loved talking about Spain with her, since I had spent two years in Mallorca while my parents lived in Valencia. We would always talk about Spain and the food. One of the happiest people I knew. I will remember her always, especially since I am lucky enough to have 7 of her beautiful paintings. I am so sorry for your loss, I will miss her.

Queridos Carmen y Julian, I am deeply saddened by Maria Rosa's passing. I believe that your mom's beauty, her smile, her laughter, her love for family and friends has touched many lives. I am certain that my career choice, to become a Spanish teacher, and my love for the Spanish language and culture are due to Maria Rosa's influence. I still recall her beautiful voice inflection as she spoke Spanish. It was her kindness, her generosity and her genuine love of family and friends that left a lasting impression upon me as a child. Maria Rosa will be greatly missed, but her beautiful spirit lives on in the many lives that she touched...

Carmen and Julian, I don't need to tell you that Maria Rosa was a force and a big presence. She has undoubtedly left a huge void. Her youthfulness, sense of style, vitality, positive outlook, love of life, humor, and her energy will always be an inspiration to me and to all who knew her. Carmen, I met your beautiful mother at Nickys wedding and am so sad to hear of her passing. I had a friend offer these words of condolence to me recently and I wanted to share them with you: Love is most recognized by a broken heart and I know you are all heart broken now but when sorrow turns to smiles, you will once again enjoy the memories of a life well lived. Carmen, The day we never wanted to happen, happened. Your mom is dancing with your Dad and laughing. I think back on the many years and always there is a smile and a laugh remembering your mother's many humorous antics with and without your Dad. How lucky everyone was to see her beauty and radiance at Nicky's wedding . How lucky you were to have such a courageous and loving mother. My family and I will so miss Maria Rosa's beautiful spirit, always so full of life, so quick with one of her wonderful Spanish sayings that said it all. I treasure the colorful, magical watercolors she shared with us, they have an honored place in our home, partly because they are lovely, but mostly because they remind us of a very special person. Dear Carmen and Family, sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I also had the pleasure of meeting her at Nickys' wedding. I only spoke to her briefly but the entire evening she was dancing , laughing and greeting people. It was easy to see her love of life. I know you will miss her dearly.

Here is a beautiful message that one of my friends sent me: My deepest condolences to you and your mom. I only had the pleasure of meeting her once (at your wedding), but I will always remember her radiant smile. I remember one specific instance of being in the church next to her near the entrance. Nobody else really was around at this time. When you showed up, and she saw you in your dress for the first time, she started crying and said to your mom how beautiful you were. I remember being choked up just seeing her reaction, you could just feel the amount of love she had for you, and how proud she was of her granddaughter. That moment of raw emotion hit me like a ton of bricks, and reminded me of what life is all about...and that no love on earth is greater than the love shared within a family.

Here is a message someone wrote to my mother: Clarise just wrote me that your Mom passed away. I do not need to tell you about her. I do want to tell you what she meant to me. She taught me by example that art can be a lifelong endeavor, that life is worthwhile even if you have health issues, and that a sense of humor is essential. She was talented, she was loving and she was fun to be with. Your Mom and Dad will always be important figures in my life. I hope these thoughts will comfort you. With love, Vivien
