Marie Ann Piche

Marie Ann Piche, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, peacefully surrounded by her family, in Grosse Pointe Farms. She was born Thursday, June 7, 1923 in Detroit, to George and Marie Hergenroether, and grew up on Westchester in GPP. Marie met and married Russell Forrest Piche December 18, 1943 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Detroit. Marie was an longtime member of St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing golf and BINGO. She would cook enormous meals for her large family. She loved playing Cards especially euchre. While supporting the Detroit Tigers she would knit the most comfortable warm slippers and dish towels for her family. Marie worked at Jacobsen's for many years and retired at 80 years young when the retailer closed it's doors in the Village. Marie was well known for her amazing banana nut bread. Marie had an amazing personality and connected with everyone in a way that they left thinking they were now her favorite. While her body was failing her her intellect never left her often reminding her children of important dates, times, and the exact location of their cellphones and keys. She will be missed. Beloved wife of the late Russell Forrest Piche. Loving mother of Greg (Tamara Vincelette), Guy (Vivian), Gary (Mary), Gordon (Cathy), Renee VanAssche, Grant (Donna), Regina (Mark) Billiet, and Glenn (Bridget). Loved grandmother to Leigh (David) Andersen, Brett (Simone), Michael (Amanda), Melissa (Chris) Ahern, Angela (Tim) Anderson, Roxanne (Cody) Buick, Ashley, Ann, John, Michelyn (Josh) Giordano, Emma (Mike) Arrigo, Grace Piche, Erin (David) Kujawski, Cole (Ashley) Van Assche, Russell, Casper, Stella (Steve) Howell, Jeremy Billiet, Heather (Erich) Dyer, Bryan (Trina) Billiet, Devin Billiet, Marie Piche, Meghan Piche, and Brittany (Chris Gordon) Byrnes.
