Marie Jean Zabel

Marie Jean Zabel, age 91, died peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, February 24, 2018. She was born on September 11, 1926 in Warren, Michigan. She was the daughter of Mary and Henry Hornfischer. Marie was a secretary at Ford Motor Company for many years and then transitioned to secretary for First Bethany United Church of Christ for well over 20 years. She is a member of Heritage Presbyterian Church in Saint Clair Shores, MI. Marie loved to garden and her favorite flowers were roses. She is one of the most funny, loving, and compassionate persons that one could ever have known. She will brighten the heavens like she brightened the lives around her. Beloved wife of the late George. Loving mother of Jeffrey (Wendy) Zabel and the late Scott Zabel. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Visitation Saturday 12 noon until the time of the funeral service 4:00 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road at Masonic, Warren. Memorial contributions to Heritage Presbyterian Church, 23415 Jefferson Avenue, St. Clair Shores would be appreciated.
