
Marilyn Ewalt Murphy passed away peacefully on May 16, 2014. The only child of Charles and Eva, she was born in Detroit, MI on March 5, 1927. After graduating from Cass Tech High School went on to earn a degree in Mortuary Science from Wayne State University. She wed Meryl C. Ewalt in 1945, they were blessed with daughter Maryann (Lee) Neimeister and son Charles (Lisa) Ewalt both residing in Mount Clemens. Husbands Meryl and Guy E. Murphy predeceased Marilyn. Her two children survive her as well as three grandchildren, Charles Ewalt Jr (Kari) of Michigan, Wayne Ewalt (Kate) of Virginia and Devlynne (Cesar) Rivera of Florida; three great-granddaughters, Emma & Cassandra Ewalt, Elizabeth Rivera and one great-grandchild on the way, as well as her loving cat companion, Sam. Marilyn volunteered for many years at North Shore Hospital, was a charter member of Daughters of Macomb and VFW Post 6691 Ladies Aux life member and Chaplin, where she will be greatly missed at euchre night. Marilyn was well traveled visiting five continents during her life, just returning from a family vacation in Dominion Republic last week. A Celebration of Life is planned for a future date. Donations in her name would be appreciated to the Michigan Humane Society or the VFW Post 6691 Ladies Aux in Fraser, MI.
