

Michael Westfall of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, March 9, at the age of 61, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mike was born on November 21, 1955, in Dowagiac, Michigan, the first born of a set of identical twins. He grew up in Three Rivers, Michigan, graduating from Three Rivers High School. He received his bachelor's degree from Wayne State University. For many years, he worked in IT, and was widely known for helping relatives and friends with any and all computer problems. Most recently, he was employed by Staples, the Grosse Pointe Shores Parks department, and the A.H. Peters Funeral Home. Mike was always ready to lend a hand to others, and was a member of the Optimist Club of St. Clair Shores. He was also an avid runner, participating in numerous marathons. His quirky sense of humor will be missed by his family and numerous friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Vivian (Rudd) Westfall. He is survived by his twin brother Patrick (Kyong) of Spanaway, Washington, and brothers Ken (Glenna), Dave, and Tom, of Three Rivers, Michigan. He was the loving uncle to 4 nephews and 2 nieces, as well as several grandnieces and nephews. He was the proud godfather of Tom Rudd. He will be greatly missed by his cousins Mary (Mike) Peterson, Barbara (Steven) Scavone, Cathy Rudd, and Bill (Jane) Rudd, who thought of him as a brother. Visitation will be on Saturday, March 18, at 11:00 a.m. at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. A Celebration of Life will follow at noon in the chapel of the funeral home, with a luncheon to follow. Contributions may be made to Reverence Hospice or the ASPCA, or the animal rescue charity of your choice.
