It's with great sadness that we learn of Nancy's passing. Without question we have lost a very special person, having gone through middle and High school with Nancy , she was a breath of fresh air to spend time with during the class reunions . Always happy and upbeat, Nancy was worth the trip to any reunion, catching up on the old and the new was wonderful. When someone this important passes, we all feel that a little bit of ourselves passes along with them, we mourn her passing and will never forget the joy she graced our lives with by her friendship. Nancy and I shared a number of English classes at Edison Junior High and Edsel Ford High School in Dearborn. She was so smart, funny, and beautiful. She was a friend to all. We sat next to each other during Senior English class, and we talked a lot about our dresses for Senior Prom. After all the time spent talking about our dresses, we had great laughs when we arrived at the Prom wearing the same dresses. Nancy's was in white and mine in pink. Fond memories for sure. I didn't have too much contact with her after your family returned from living in Japan. I know she had a lot of challenges, but she was truly a treasure, and always so very brave. My deepest sympathy to each of you and your extended family.

I will miss my sister,Nancy,more than anyone can imagine. She would call me once weekly and give me valuable advice about many things in life.I am very thankful that I got to visit her December 10th at Sunrise.I have millions of fond memories of NANCY and also my other sister PAMELA..we grew up in Cincinnati,Ohio and Dearborn, Michigan.Nancy helped thousands of people in Michigan when she worked as social worker.Nancy's left eye was slightly drooping and perhaps this was related to her eye cancer. I will remember her joyful SMILE and VOICE forever.SHe would always find a way to help people.I remember her favorite dog, Louie, from Cornell Place in Cincinnati 1955. "When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. This quote speaks to me for I have many fond memories of Aunt Nancy that will be treasured and reflected upon. Nancy and her beehive hairdos-how much AquaNet did she use? Nancy squinting to accessorize her various kimono photo ops. Nancy and her boys-boy did she beam every time she was with or talked about Nick, Andrew, and John. Nancy singing "Happy Birthday" to me. Nancy being the gracious hostess. Nancy's 100 watt smile and infectious laugh! Gosh how I loved how she would give you a jab on the arm or tickle your ribs and say "Oh, Come On." I can hear that hearty laugh so clearly. Well, tonight Aunt Nancy has joined my mom in heaven. May they pick up where they left off-my mom cawing like a crow and Nancy saying "Oh, come on Pam!" Nancy will be missed, but she taught me many lessons along the way that will live on-survive and make the most of the time you have...and don't take things for granted. During the 60's, I was lucky to fall in with a small group of unique characters at the U of Michigan. Most of us were, arguably, misfits of one variety or another, so I'm not sure exactly how Duckie wandered in. But wander in she did, and we were the better for it. The group played hard, laughed a lot, covered each other's backs, bet the horses, took some amazing trips - and even studied enough (but just enough) to end up with degrees. Duckie (none of us called her "Nancy") probably had her "blue periods" - but if so, she hid them well. The woman we knew was bright, pretty, smart, warm, out-going, and very talented. Duckie was always up for an adventure, always had a smile on her face, and could - and often did - drink beer with the best of us. We thought the world of her. To my embarrassment, I lost touch with Duckie over the last decade or so - and in talking to her son Nick, I understand that those years presented her with some real challenges. I regret dropping that ball, I really do - Duckie was a special person and a special friend.

Nancy was a wonderful person. These past 10 years I got to know Nancy through her good friendship with Sue Berry Singleton. Nancy was the best. I helped her find a dress for her son's wedding on a beach in Cancun. I ran all over town looking for dresses. We would just laugh and laugh when she tried them on. In the end, she wore this Ralph Lauren royal blue dress in which she looked beautiful. I was so happy that I knew she would look gorgeous on that beach. My heart is so sad for her sons and family. She was an angel and will be missed by all that loved her. She never complained--I truly admired her.
