Ned O. Buckner

Ned Owen Buckner was born May 5, 1928 to Henry and Rettie in Baxter, Tennessee. Ned eventually settled in the metro-Detroit area where he worked as a pipe fitter for the automotive industry. He married the love of his life Jimmie on May 24, 1948 and the couple had six wonderful children. Ned passed away July 24, 2017, in St. Clair Shores, Michigan at the age of 89. Tinkering with his 1927 Model T was one of Neds favorite ways to spend his time. The only thing that came close to that was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Donating his time to his community was also very important to Ned. He was involved in the Freemasons and spent many years as a clown in the Shriners Circus, raising money to help disabled children. Ned often said, "A man is never as tall as when he stoops to help a crippled child." Ned joins in heaven his dear wife of 47 years Jimmie Ann Buckner. He is the beloved dad of Sharon (Robert) Stewart, Ronald (Denise A.), Donald (Denise R.), David (Sara), Susan (Michael) Noel, and Cindy (Dave) Bosek. The proud granddad of 12 and great-granddad of 17. Visitation for Ned will be Thursday July 27, 2017 from 2:00PM - 8:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd., (at Masonic13 Mile Rd.) In Warren. Funeral Services will be Friday July 28, 2017 at the Funeral Home Starting at 10am. A committal service will be held at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East.
