Olga “Ann” Olen, age 100 ½ of Harrison Township, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023. Daughter of John Kolodey and Kathryn Kolodey (Myhal), she was born in Montreal, Canada on 5/22/1922. She grew up in Hamtramck, Michigan, with her older brother Stanley (dec.).
In 1954, married Thaddeus Adam Olejniczak (dec.). Ann was a grass roots Computer Programmer for the Federal Government where she worked for 37 years. She had five children: Susan O’Berski (dec.)(Thomas), Karen Wright (James), Paul Olen (Mary), Lauren Bosley (Scott) and Nancy Hiestand (Ron). She also was blessed with 7 grandchildren: Kathleen Kanan, Kristine Nixon, Alexandria Nixon, Samuel Hiestand, Hannah Hiestand, Aaron Wright and Elainna Schlutow (Alan).
Ann’s resilience prevailed when she lost her husband in 1966 having to raise her five children on her own. As Ann enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends, her positive attitude was contagious; she made everyone feel special and was so appreciative of dear friendships throughout the years. She brought strength and optimism when challenged with the hurdles of life. She loved attending sporting events, travel, shopping and living a beautiful life on the water.
A funeral service will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church in Mount Clemens, Michigan on 2/18/2023.
