Patricia “Pat” Ann Bingham, 91, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, March 18, 2025, surrounded by her daughters. Pat was born Jan. 15, 1934, in Detroit. She fell in love with and married the love of her life, John Bingham, after he returned from the Korean War in 1954. They shared 68 years of marriage until his passing in 2022. Pat was a smart and determined woman. With five young children at home, Pat found the time, energy and strength to attend college and earn a nursing degree. Her career spanned 25 years of caring for patients until she retired from St. John Hospital (now Henry Ford St. John Hospital). She took a path not taken by many of her peers at the time. Unbeknownst to Pat, her example instilled in her daughters the strength to follow their dreams and be true to themselves. Travel was a wonderful part of the couple’s life together. Pat usually was either telling stories about where they had gone or where they were going next. Their travels included trips to Hawaii, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Greece, Alaska and Australia, to name a few. Pat and John spent 25 Michigan winters at their second home in Vero Beach, Fla.
Pat lived a fun and full life. She never missed a party and enjoyed hosting them even more. Whether it was her legendary 35 years of Christmas Eve parties, Thanksgivings, Super Bowls, Memorial Days or family birthday parties, Pat always loved to share her home with family and friends. Pat is survived by her daughters, Diane Druzinski (Gerald), Karen Bingham Brown, Patricia Perry (Edward), Colleen Vitale (Angelo) and Barbara Klochko (Peter). She also was loved by her 11 grand¬children and 14 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 467 Fairford, Grosse Pointe Woods. She will lie in state beginning at 9:30 a.m. The family is grateful for the exceptional care Pat received from K&K Eldercare Concierge and Hospice of Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Michigan, hom.org/ donate. Condolences may be shared at ahpeters.com.
