Peter Higbie passed away peacefully on August 7, 2015 with family members by his side. He was born on December 8, 1924 in Chicago; son of Nathan and Harriet (nee Cooper) Higbie. Peter is survived by his wife Joan Hines and was predeceased by his wife Frances. He leaves behind his loving children Evan, Katie (Peter) Sofran, Bill (Erica), and Toby (Loretta). He was proud of his grandchildren Christopher, Haley, Paige, Gavin, Charlotte, and Maeve. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 16 at 2:00 pm at Grosse Pointe Unitarian Church, 17150 Maumee, Grosse Pointe. Reverend Alex Regal will officiate. Mr. Higbie's cremated remains will be buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit.
