After he completed high school, Dick was drafted in the United States Army and served 19 months under the command of General Patton during the WWII conflict. Once he returned home from his military service, Dick acquired a position at Chrysler Motor Company working as a drivability specialist. After 36 years of dedicated service at Chrysler, Dick retired in 1988.
In the year 1978, he and his wife, Connie, embarked on their first major trip to Hawaii and continued to travel to more than 35 countries over the years.
His beloved wife of over 56 years, Constance (Nee: Stevenson) Milhem; his brother, Charles Milhem survive Richard.
Aside from his loving parents, Kamel and Lamayda, he is preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Elias; and one brother, William Milhem.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2021 in the Chapel of A.H. Peters Funeral Home (20705 Mack Avenue, at Vernier, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI), with visitation held from 11:00 AM until the start of service at 12 Noon.
He will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
