Robert James Reed, age 79, of Warren, Michigan, passed away August 17, 2011 at Evangelical Nursing Home. He was a proud member of the Detroit Police Force from 1953 to 1979 and then a member of the Retired Detroit Police & Fire Fighter Association. Beloved husband of Lois for 62 cherished years and members of Hope Lutheran Church. He is also survived by sons : Rick & Cindy, Steve & Linda, Keith & Betty, Ron & Sharon and Jeff & Martha; 11 grandchildren; Brett, Abbie, Beth, Laura, Matthew, Ryan, Tyler, Austin, Bella, Emma, Justin and one soon to be grandchild on the way; one great-granddaughter, Sophia; and surviving sister Ruth Smith. Visitation is Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic, Warren. Funeral Saturday in state 10A.M. until service at 11 A.M. , Hope Lutheran Church, 32400 Hoover, Warren. Interment will be at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East.
