Ross Jay Bedford

Ross J. Bedford, age 83 of Warren, passed away July 7, 2014. He was born in Bad Axe, Michigan on April 7, 1931; the son of James and Elida (nee Schlabach) Bedford. Ross was a man of allegiance. After High School, he served his country in the United States Airforce, following which his loyalties extended to his community where he worked as a Systems Analyst at Chrysler for over 40 years as well as a part time Accounting Professor at Macomb Community College for over 20 years. Also a man of integrity and devotion, Ross was committed to Christianity and lived his faith by example. He was charitable, loving, smart and funny with a great sense of humor. These attributes combined ultimately made for a great family man. In Ross' free time, he could be found relaxing on the golf course. Beloved husband of Joan for 58 years. They were married on December, 30 1956 at Dakota Ave United Missionary Church in Detroit. Loving father of Carolyn (Kevin) Habermas and Gail Dubay. Treasured grandfather of Kelly (Travis) Griffin, Ryan (Kristin) Habermas, Courtney Habermas, Justin (Chelsea) O'Hara, Erin O'Hara and Patrick O'Hara. Proud great-grandfather of Nolan O'Hara, Jacob Habermas and the late Ian Griffin. Dear brother of the late Elaine Wakefield and Donald Bedford. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held Friday, July 11, 2014 from 10:00am until time of service 12:00pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile), Warren. Rev. Don Pedde will officiate. Interment to immediately follow at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.
