I fondly remember Mr. Thomas's friendly smile each time we spoke at DGC. He was a very nice man, and a pleasure to interact with. My condolences to his family.

I worked with Sam at Dice Sweeney (& its various name permutations) from 1977 to 1997. He lived in my GP neighborhood and would stop by to yap when he saw me in the yard. Great memories of Sam's narcolepsy, cigars and golfing. Of course the last half of Sam's professional name was "and Gracie". An original and my privilege to have known and worked with him.

Sam was one of the most giving and kindest persons I have ever known. Met Sam through my mother for whom he had done pro bono work. I was a member of the Detroit Police Department and we played golf together and had great conversations about crime control and the law. Sam was the kind of attorney that gave lawyers a good name. I later became his accountant and remained so until his passing. I will miss a very special friend.

Uncle Sam was a wonderful man. He was the only one in my mother's family who kept up with us through the years. When I talked to him, he always asked about my children and my brothers and sisters. My mother, Margaret, considered him her favorite sibling. I have always been impressed with the way he cared for his late wife Virginia, his brother Giles, and his sister Georgie. Not many men would have done as much as he has. He was also a very intelligent man who knew a great deal about many subjects. I will always remember him fondly. Although I am not able to attend his funeral, my thoughts and prayers are with his family now.

Uncle Sam was a gentleman; kind, compassionate, and a great conversationalist. He truly bridged the family tree with many a story of our rich heritage. I enjoyed the many visits and long dinners we shared talking for hours on end about almost every topic, but mostly on the subject of family. And, when yawns were our only timer to end a great evening, with a wink and a smile, he would always say, "see you later, kiddo." I think I inherited his mischievous smile. Codladh smh.

Sam was fun to work for. I especially enjoyed it when he went on vacation because I could clean his desk and line up piles of correspondence labeled from "junk to do this first". Don't know if he did do it first but he was great.

Sam was a great person he helped alot of people during his career as an attorney with out pay he never ever sent out a bill for legal services we made him an honary member of Iron workers local 25 of the International association of bridge structural and ornamental Iron Workers for all the members he helped were it be cases involving worker's compensation cases or just getting members out of the slammer(Jail)He will be missed!

As one of the countless people who encountered Sam in his workers' compensation practice, he could always be counted on to be a kind, gentle, and compassionate advocate for his clients. Whenever you might bump into him, you shouldn't be surprised if he wanted to buy you a cup of coffee. Always the gentleman. My condolences to his family.

So sorry for the families loss, He will be missed.

Sam's routine greeting "Hi,Hi,Hi" was always accompanied by a mischievous smile.He added much to the enjoyment of being part of the Dice Sweeney Sullivan and Feikens firm. Sorry I can't make it to celebrate his life and share some Sam stories.

Sam was an unforgettable friend to myself and my entire family, the Phelps family. I respected him so much and always enjoyed talking with him. He was a very brave man who never complained, it seemed, not even at the end when we knew he must be very uncomfortable. I pray for his family to find peace in their faith and to find their favorite memories to lean on. He was one-of-a-kind and I am honored to have known him.
