Sam was born in Delaware, Ohio he was the sixth of seven children. He previously lived in Detroit and moved to Warren 32 yrs ago. He served his country for 6 yrs as an US Marine during Viet Nam. He retired in 2005 after 43 yrs with Ford at the Sterling Heights Axle Plant. Sam is survived by his wife of 50 yrs Diane, their 5 children Elizabeth (Richard), Therese, Bridgette, Rebecca (Steven), Rodger, his 14 grandchildren Brendan, Hannah, Andy, Isabelle, Heather, Tyler, Tristian, Gage, Adaleena, Hayden, Joshua, Chase, Ethan and Zachery and his sister Hazel Shankel. Â
The family is asking in lieu of flowers to please donate to the St. Jude’s Childrens’ Hospital in memory of Sam.
