Samuel "Sam" Moceri

Sam Moceri was born on April 28,1938 at home in Roseville, Michigan to Joseph and Rose Moceri ,immigrants from Sicily. He met his lifelong love Kathy Scherrer at Erin Presbyterian church in 1955. On November 21,1959 they were married at Holy Family Church in Detroit. In their 59 years of marriage they had 4 children, Rosanne (William) Merecki, Joseph (Dawn) Moceri , Catherine (Delbert) Gillenwater, and Carolyn (Michael) Leahy; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 1 on the way. Sam was predeceased by parents Rose and Joseph; sisters Stella Burke, Florence Manioci, Mary Robison; and brothers Chuck and Bud Moceri. Sam was a very loving and giving man. He loved being surrounded by his family and was always bragging about his children and grandchildren. He taught his family to always love each other and to never forget that family was the most important thing. Sam spent his whole life in the produce business. He started as a fruit peddler with his father and brothers ,then as a salesman in the wholesale produce business. He loved gardening, vacationing, building things ,and the casino. He loved his family coming over and getting together. He passed away peacefully with his family at his side. He will be loved and missed forever. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road at Masonic, Warren. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment will be held at the Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
