Grandpa, It's been almost 3 months since you've been gone and things are just not the same. I miss you interrupting our conversations to tell us a story you've told many times before. I miss you holding up your fist and saying "I oughta . . ." when expressing your distast for someone or something. I miss your cute bowlegged walk and your shuffle-step dance to show how fit you are. I will never forget all of the trips up North (especially the "whoops" bag) and the Sunday drives,pizza nights,and weekends with you and Grandma. Every time I hear a loudly ticking clock I think of weekends on the foldout bed at your house.:-). I love you both so much and I miss you terribly. I have comfort knowing that someday I will see you both again, and I always think of you when I hear the song "Don't cry for me" (about how wonderful heaven is). Miss you Grandpa!

Dad, I am happy to have had so many healthy years with you. Our Saturdays together winning animals and precious jewels at Dave and Buster's and having lunch afterwards will remain in my memory for the rest of my life. The many vacations that you and Mom spent with Jacky, Josh, Madison, Lauren and I were full of funny moments. The time in Three Rivers when you fell in the lake off the dock after sneaking out to remove the outboard motor from the boat, and you eating Shoe Fly pie at Amish Acres and then talking about it for a full year until we went the following year will forever make me smile. Coaching my hockey teams when I was growing up, being a catcher on my adult baseball team to distract the batters still brings laughs when I get together with friends and mention you. You were a kind and generous grandfather to our children and will be forever missed and will always occupy a large place in our hearts. your son

Larry and Jacky: You have many wonderful memories of your time with Shurl. Great family vacations which allowed Shurl (and Rose) with the opportunity to visit places they would never have been able to visit; great dinners in your home where Shrul was always welcome, and treated with respect and kindness; softball and ice hockey games; lots of fun at Dave & Busters, and the list goes on. Shurl was blessed to live a long and independent life, and he was especially blessed to have both of you who loved him unconditionally. I pray that the memories of the good times spent with Shurl help ease the sadness of your loss. You gave Shurl the greatest gifts of all - time, respect, compassion and, most of all, love. Gayle

Grandpa, Although you are no longer with us, our fond memories of you will always be close at hand. Those memories of mine date back to the time I was a kid - such as the times when we took our long walks to Valuland, and through the condos behind our house. They were also of us walking around the mall, our trips to McDonald's where you would order Madison and I a filet-o-fish with extra tartar sauce, and also of the numerous Red Wing games. There is no doubt that you made a large positive impact on myself as a child, and I carry that positive influence and impact with me today. As I grew older and the time between our visits grew greater in length, I realized that the time that you, my sisters, and I spent together was just as important to you. I realized this through the stories that you told on each of these visits. Although you may not have realized it at the time, you often repeated many of these stories. From this, I came to realize that those which you most often repeated seemed to be the memories that you most treasured. I am extremely happy to have been in some of those repeated stories. I want you to know that you will now be in my stories that I will tell to those younger that I, and these will often be repeated. Josh
