Sophia "Kay" Millard

Sophia "Kay" Millard, age 103, died on Sunday, June 7, 2015. She was born on September 3, 1911 in Butte, Montana; the daughter of Risto and Ana Unkovich. Kay devoted her life to teaching. She taught for over 40 years in Hazel Park, West Branch, and then retired in Bloomfield Hills in 1975. She was very humble and will always be remembered by saying "I don't like discord". Beloved wife of the late Elburn "Al". Kay is survived by nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Nicholas, Michael, and Simo; and sisters Stella, Simana, Violet, Mara, and Helen. Visitation Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 3:00 until 9:00 pm and Friday, June 12 from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd. at Masonic, Warren. A Pomen service will be held on Thursday at 7:00 pm and Friday at 7:00 pm. An Opelo service will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Stevan Decanski Church, 14235 East 11 Mile Road, Warren. Interment will take place in St. Nicholas Orthodox Church Cemetery in Flint, Michigan. Memorial contributions to the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church Cemetery Fund or to St. Stevan Decanski Church would be appreciated.
