Thomas was born in Warren, Michigan, and raised in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. He worked as an engineer and was also a phenomenal DJ, known for his talent and passion for music. He enjoyed photography and donated his time to support veterans and their events. Thomas was recognized by the Roseville Fire Department for saving a life.
Thomas was known for being funny, kind, loyal, and deeply loving. He was very patriotic and cared deeply about each and every person he met. He had a natural ability to make people feel important and cared for, and others were easily drawn to his friendly and outgoing nature. He loved music, Star Wars, Minions, boating, and most of all, his family and friends. He truly considered his friends to be family. Above all, he shared a deep and devoted love with his wife, Nicole, who was the center of his world.
He had a big heart for both people and animals, installing a small gate in his fence so the neighbor’s dog could come visit, and feeding squirrels that eventually began leaving a nut on his windowsill in return. Thomas never hesitated to help those he loved or anyone in need of a caring hand. Even acquaintances felt his kindness, as he once visited someone recovering from hip surgery simply to offer support.
A true entertainer at heart, he loved making others laugh. Whether through pranks or his vibrant personality, he brought joy wherever he went.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Nicole Ross; his mother, Danuta Dabkowska, and stepfather, Aleksander Kurec; his brother, Chris Ross; and his stepbrother, Aleksander Kurec Jr. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who adored him. He will be missed by his in-laws Gary and Sally Purcell.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, with a scripture service at 7:00 PM.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 28, with visitation at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores, Michigan.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. His kindness and laughter will live on in all who knew him.
