Violet E. Smith

Violet Evelyn Smith (Nee Standfest) December 9, 2017 96 years old. Violet lived a long and happy life, filled with food, family and dancing with Lou. She was the core of the family activities for many, many years. Her home for the last 2 years was the Shelby Nursing Center, where she made many friends and also lost many. She will be missed greatly. Violet was born to Lydia (Butler) and Carl Standfest on July, 5, 1921. She is predeceased by her 4 brothers, Floyd Standfest (Loretta), Charles Standfest (Wanda), Frederick Standfest (Alice), Harvey Standfest (Hope) and her sister Gloria (George) Adams, her daughter Sharon (Jerry) Shacklett, and granddaughter Sherry Popour. Violet is survived by her loving partner of 34 years, Louis DiNardo, her sister-in-law, Hope (Harvey) Standfest, her daughters, Darla (James) Ward, Terri (John) Schroder, and Bonnie (Conde) Gonzalez. Nine (9) grandchildren, Lynn (Steve) Conroy, Richard Popour, Charles (Rachael) Pointer, Anthony Pointer (Sonia), Laura Popour, Jennifer (David) Daniels, Stacey Krause, James Schroder(Jennifer) and Jessica (Brian) Shelton. Fourteen (14) great-grandchildren, Chad Conroy, Benjamin Conroy, Chelsea Conroy, Kyle Pointer, Logan Pointer, Jason Pointer, Jessica Pointer, Joshua Pointer, Gage Daniels, Adriana Krause, Danica Krause, Cole Popour, Mairon Schroder and Violet Schroder and Great-Great Granddaughter Charlotte Conroy. Many loving nieces and nephews will also mourn her passing. A visitation for Violet will be held Tuesday December 12, 2017 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a family Eulogy service at 7:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home 32000 Schoneherr Rd., in Warren. She will be interred at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East Cemetery, in Clinton Township.
