Virginia Ann Parisi, age 97, of Grosse Pointe Woods passed away peacefully on Friday, April 30, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Detroit on December 1, 1923 to the late Guiseppe and Guiseppa (nee: Pavia) DiStefano. She was the last surviving of eight children.
Virginia was married to Peter Parisi in 1946 until his death in 2006. Virginia worked as a seamstress for Ford Motor Company for over thirty years before her retirement. She was a faithful long time parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
Her greatest joy was her family and she cherished the time she spent with them. This was especially true in the kitchen when she would show her nieces and nephews how to prepare the same classic Italian family recipes she learned when she was young.
She is survived by three loving children, Diane (Gail), Jacqueline, and Vito Parisi (Lee); her four grandchildren, Bill Parisi , Skott (Kim) Parisi, Danny Easley and Dana Roane; her two great grandchildren, Arianna Parisi and Valeri Roane; and is also survived by numerous extended family and close friends.
A funeral mass for Virginia will be held on May 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church (5900 McClellan, Detroit, MI 48213), with Brother Ray Stadmeyer as celebrant. Instate will be held from 10:00 AM until the start of mass.
