William Stewart

William Stewart passed away on March 15th at William Beaumont Hospital in Grosse Pointe. He was born on October 10th, 1954; son of Robert and Mary Stewart. Bill was an animal lover. He had spent numerous years as a personal pet sitter and had formed his own company ten years ago to provide this service to the community. He would often be seen throughout the Grosse Pointes and Harper Woods walking dogs. His love for animals began when he was a child. There was always a fish, lizard, turtle or other animals at his residence growing up. His allergies prevented him from having cats and dogs until he was older. As an adult he raised and sold Koi from his 55 gallon fish tank in the basement and kept a koi pond in the back yard. Bill also loved cars. He bought, rode, and sold high performance vehicles. From a Cosworth Vega with copper headers to Trans Ams, every car said something about Bill. His current Hummer will be parked in front of the funeral home during visitation. Mr. Stewart was an avid gardener. He has maintained certain individual plants throughout the years from his grandmother's garden. He was friendly and loyal to people and buisnesses that he frequented. He will be missed by all that knew him. Bill will be missed by his brothers Michael and Tom (Nancy), and sister Betsy (Jeff) Kelly. He was proud of his nieces Sarah, April, and Shannon Stewart, and Kaitlyn Kelly. He leaves behind his faithfull collies Mac, Cisco, and Bonnie. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2:00-9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Church Grosse Pointe on Sunday at 2:00 pm.
