He was a proud graduate of Coolville High School and went on to earn his undergraduate degree from Ohio University. Continuing his education, he received his Master’s degree in accounting from The Ohio State University. With dedication and entrepreneurial spirit, he owned and operated Gainer Bookkeeping and Tax Service for more than 40 years, building a reputation for integrity and excellence. Over the decades, he served many loyal and satisfied customers who valued not only his expertise, but also his honesty and personal care.
A hardworking and devoted man, he found great joy outside of work as well. He loved spending time in his yard, tending to his vegetable garden, flowers and fruit trees with patience and pride. His faith was central to his life, and he cherished meaningful one-on-one conversations about Bible teachings and life, discussing his beliefs, always eager to share and to listen. Gospel music and hymns often filled his day, reflecting the deep spiritual foundation that guided him.
Above all, he was a family man who loved helping others. He served as a role model and inspiration to many younger men who looked up to him, not only for his strong work ethic but for his character and steady example. His life was marked by faith, kindness, and perseverance, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
