Rick Jay Jago, a proud U.S. Navy veteran and lifelong diehard Buckeye fan, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the age of 78. He will be remembered for his strength, honesty, and generosity, as well as the laughter he brought into the lives of those around him.
After serving his country with honor in the Navy, Rick continued his dedication to service through his work at Orient Corrections Facility and later with the Coca-Cola Company. His strong work ethic, loyalty, and integrity defined him in every role he took on.
He found joy in the simple things like fishing with his best friend Terry, cheering on his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes, and spending time with friends, especially over a good meal and a lot of laughs. He was the kind of person who always said what he felt, never afraid to speak his truth, and his great sense of humor could light up any room.
But more than anything, Rick will be remembered for his heart. He was endlessly giving, always willing to help someone in need, expecting nothing in return. His kindness, authenticity, and love for life left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Aldean (Wells); wife, Lynne Jago; and brothers, Curtis and Randy Jago.
Survived by his significant other, Susie Baker; the son that he always wanted, Jason Baker; daughters, Lisa and Jennifer; sister-in-law, Myra Jago; special cousin, Toni Holdcroft; best friend, Terry Miller; and many other relatives and friends.
A gathering to celebrate Rick’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Eastside Brewing Company 1421 Davidson Drive, Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068. In accordance with his wishes, a visitation or funeral service will not be held.
