

Rolando “Rolo” Contreras Rojas, 63, of Hilliard, OH peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones on August 17th in Tampa, FL. Rolo was born on October 18th, 1960, to Rolando Contreras Bermudez and Edelmira Rojas de Contreras in Talara, Peru. After graduating from the Colegio de la Inmaculada, he went on to study at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru in Lima and the Xavierian Pontifical University in Bogota, Colombia, getting his degree in Industrial Engineering in 1985. He was admitted to The Ohio State University the same year to continue his studies, getting his Master of Science degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering in 1989 and becoming a fervent buckeye for life. He landed his first job for Combustion Engineering (later acquired by ABB) for more than 15 years as an industrial automation professional with regional management responsibilities for Latin America. Rolo had bouts with alcohol use disorder throughout his adult life. But his friends and family will always remember him by his gentle soul. He spent the last 6 years working for Amazon and was excited to have been recently promoted and was looking forward to initiating his new job assignment in Rhode Island. Rolo was predeceased by his father Rolando, his mother Edelmira, and his brother Jose Eduardo. He is survived by his children Rolando, Nicolas, and Alejandro, his brother Miguel Angel, and his sister Monica Maria. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, October 18, 2024 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 4242 Hoover Road, Grove City, OH 43123.
