Age 69, passed into the presence of the Lord on Monday, March 2, 2026. A beloved child of God, Rusty loved his faith, his family, and his beloved OSU Buckeyes—especially the football team and TBDBITL. He is now greeted in heaven by his parents, Russ and Eva Salyards.
Rusty is survived by his brothers, Jeff (Melissa) Salyards and Randy Pettry, along with several nieces and nephews, all of whom will dearly miss his warmth and passion for life.
A celebration of Rusty's life will be held at a time close to his favorite season—the start of the OSU football schedule, when the spirit of his team and his love for life will be remembered by all who knew him.
