Toni Erna Wilson

Toni Erna Wilson, age 97, of Grove City, Ohio passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026 surrounded by her family. Born June 28, 1928 in Viernheim, Germans, Toni lived a long, healthy and happy life rooted in the Christian faith. Toni was well known for her quick wit, her willingness to help others, her generosity and also for her teddy bears. She sewed hundreds of teddy bears and gave nearly all of them to friends, relatives and to Children's Hospital in Columbus. Toni also crocheted, knitted and was an accomplished seamstress. Toni traveled abroad often, especially to Germany to visit relatives and close friends. In her life, she managed to visit 37 countries and 22 states. Toni was an honorary member of the Columbus Damenchor and sang with the group for 50 years. She worked for the Southwestern City Schools for over 40 years as a head cook in an elementary school, a job that she loved. Toni was preceded in death by her parents Lorenz and Elisabeth Bugert and by her brother Willie and her sisters Magdalena and Gertrude and also by her husbands Lester Evans and John Wilson. She is survived by her daughters Carolyn Evans and Dorey Evans and by her grandson John and his family. Funeral services will be conducted on May 30, with a private graveside service for family and close friends held early in the day. A celebration of Toni's life will be held at Schoedinger Funeral Home at 4242 Hoover Road in Grove City on May 30 from 11-1. Toni will be deeply missed, but she would have encouraged you to be happy for her as she makes her Final Journey to be with her Heavenly Father.
