

David Medina, 76, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at his home in Port Neches, Texas surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on January 4, 1939 in Bryan, Texas to Aquilio and Viviana Medina. David received his education in Bryan, Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University, Class of 1965. He was honorably discharged from the Texas National Guard after service in the Bay of Pigs crisis. After eleven years of teaching and coaching at Sabine Pass High School he left and became a supervisor for Coors, Jorgensen Distributing, and Gideon Distributing. He retired in 2003 and enjoyed his retirement for eleven years.
David was a loving father and was married to Margo Arredondo Medina on December 19, 1965. They recently celebrated their 50th Anniversary in Las Vegas, Nevada. They have two daughters, Delphi Ann and Devin Lyn. He celebrated educational preparedness; thus, his daughters are graduates of the University of Houston and the University of Houston at Clear Lake. David lived in the Golden Triangle area for forty years and was a member of St. John's Methodist Church in Port Acres. He loved all sports, especially his Aggies, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros, and Houston Texans. David was an active fisherman. He had a very green thumb, and loved his well- kept yard and flower beds.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Aquilio and Viviana Medina; one brother, Thomas Medina; and five sisters, Martha Salazar, Rosa Ochoa, Fe Ortega, Sally Rios, and Carmen Munoz.
David is survived by his children, Delphi Ann and Devin Lyn; wife, Margo Medina; one brother, Jesse Medina; and a sister, Janie Rios. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family welcomes friends and family to a visitation Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with a Christian service to be conducted by Pastor Jake Porter, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, 4841 39th Street, Port Arthur, Texas. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
