Bobby graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He played football for Lamar, before joining the Army and fighting in the Korean Conflict. He was a resident of Groves for 55 years and retired from Texaco Refinery after 38 years of service as a pipefitter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen Rice.
Survivors include his son, Richard Rice and wife, Belinda of Nederland, TX; two grandchildren, Jordan Rice and Alyssa Rice.
A visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2014 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Mark Hughes officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
